WHAT’S NEW

Sidebar menu

The new sidebar menu offers a sleek update to the way you navigate the Siteimprove Intelligence Platform. Now you always have the menu by your side, so you can quickly find what you need without even having to exit the module you’re currently in.

See all available options for a module and return to the main menu at any time.

Digital Certainty Index™ (DCI™) Score*

Introducing: the Digital Certainty Index™ (DCI™) Score. With the sheer volume of data and different metrics that can be used to judge a website, it’s hard to objectively measure your website’s performance. The DCI Score does precisely that: quantify the quality and potential impact of your website’s digital presence.

The DCI Score is broken down into individual scores for Quality Assurance, Accessibility, and SEO to provide you with precise measures of your website’s performance in each of these areas. Read more about the different DCI scores and how they're calculated.

*Patent pending.

Industry benchmarking

To make it even easier to see how well your website is performing in relation to those of other companies or organizations in your industry, just check your DCI Score against the industry benchmark score:

Less than three points to go to match the industry benchmark!

We’ll be regularly updating and adjusting the Digital Certainty Index so you can be sure that your website will always be measured against current dynamic market trends.

Dashboard and Overview pages

The Siteimprove Dashboard—your new launchpad

The new Siteimprove Dashboard isn’t just about pretty colors—it’s a more intuitive way of working. By providing DCI scores on the performance of your site in Quality Assurance, Accessibility, and SEO, you can immediately see at a glance where to start working.

That Quality Assurance Score is looking very impressive. Might be time to devote some attention to Accessibility instead.

Re-designed overview pages with targeted recommendations

Where the Dashboard helps you decide what aspect of your site to work on, the updated Overview pages (formerly known as “Summary”) tells you exactly which issues to tackle first.

Prioritized lists make it easy to focus on the issues that will have the biggest impact on your website.

Granular score breakdowns to pinpoint problem areas

By breaking down your overall score in QA, Accessibility, and SEO into subcategories, you can further hone in on problematic areas and see exactly which issues are affecting your score the most. When you already have a million other things on your to-do list and no time to do them, it’s all about choosing the tasks that will maximize impact for efforts exerted.

Looks like there might be some Level AA errors bringing this Accessibility score down.

…and there’s the culprit. Doing well everywhere else though!

Celebrate your progress

Sometimes it can be hard to stay motivated when the tasks at hand—making your website accessible, keeping the readability level of every page consistent—can feel so huge. That’s why even incremental progress on issues will add points to your DCI score, making the rewards more tangible and reachable. Every small accomplishment contributes to the end goal of building an exceptional website.

Need a reminder of how far you’ve come? Now we keep track of all the issues you’ve fixed. You’ve earned it.

Page-level recommendations and DCI Score

All the new features we’ve detailed above? It’s all available for individual pages too. Have a specific high-priority page that you need to make sure is in tip-top shape (say, the landing page for a new marketing campaign)? Go straight to the Page Overview by navigating to Quality Assurance > Inventory > Pages and then selecting the Page Inspector icon (a bullet point list with three horizontal lines) for the page you want to work on.

The DCI Page Score lets you pinpoint priority areas for specific pages.

Upgraded SEO module

As part of the new Siteimprove experience, we’ve revamped the SEO module to provide more targeted guidance on how to increase your organic visitor traffic.

Comprehensive recommendations to help up your SEO game

With more than 60 new and improved SEO issues that the module checks your website for, it takes the guesswork out of figuring out why your website isn’t ranking as well as it could in the search engine results pages. Each issue points out exactly where your site stands to benefit from SEO improvements and makes recommendations on implementation.

Not sure what mixed HTTPS content is? We’ve provided explanations to help you fix all your SEO issues.

SEO Score

The SEO Score, a part of the overall DCI™ Score, makes it easy for you to measure SEO gains. It’s broken down into four categories: Technical, Content, User Experience, and Mobile, so you can prioritize which areas of your website to improve. Read more about the SEO Score.

Tailor your task list

Similar to our Accessibility module, you can filter and sort issues by category, difficulty, and impact so you can decide where it makes the most sense for you to start working. Don’t feel comfortable working with anything too technical? No problem—sort issues by difficulty level so the easy fixes appear at the top of the list. Want to add points to your SEO Score with the least amount of effort? Filter issues by “Quick Wins”. The options are flexible.

Look at all those easy fixes. You got this.

Switching back to the classic Siteimprove experience

If you want to keep using the classic Siteimprove interface for the next little while, you can switch back by going to your user profile dropdown and selecting “Switch back to old interface”. This will restore the classic dashboard and overview pages, as well as the previous SEO module (just not the sidebar menu). But give the upgraded Siteimprove experience a try before you decide to switch—we think you’ll like it.

IMPROVEMENTS

Progress graphs for individual occurrences and specific issues in Accessibility

For all our customers who have been asking for a more precise way of measuring the progress made on accessibility issues, here it is: progress graphs that track the number of occurrences fixed over time.

Since it’s easier to show how much progress has been achieved when measured in individual occurrences than in entire issues, the new graphs provide a more nuanced visual reflection of how much you’ve accomplished. This makes for easier reporting both to management and to accessibility compliance bodies.

See precisely how many occurrences of all issues that have been fixed over time. When we're talking about a reduction from 1.3 million to 880,000 occurrences, that's worth showing in a graph!

You can also illustrate the change in number of occurrences for a specific issue.
