How is the DCI® Score calculated when SEO or Accessibility modules are not enabled?

Modified on: Thu, 1 Jul, 2021 at 5:33 PM

Each of the three modules: Quality Assurance (QA), SEO, and Accessibility, make up one third (33.33%) of the Digital Certainty Index® (DCI®) Score.

Sample DCI Score breakdown:
QA Score = 86%
SEO Score = 74%
Accessibility Score = 69%
Final DCI Score: (86 x 0.333) + (74 x 0.333) + (69 x 0.333) = 76.3%

Most Siteimprove clients have subscribed to all three modules, but what happens to the DCI Score if you are not subscribed to one of the modules?

No SEO module
If your subscription does not include the SEO module, the DCI Score will still include the SEO Score in the calculation. Siteimprove gathers the information required to calculate the SEO Score from the QA crawl carried out on the site. However, users will not be able to see the specific issues that affect the SEO Score.

No Accessibility module
If the subscription does not include the Accessibility module, the DCI cannot include the Accessibility Score. Siteimprove cannot gather the information required to calculate the Accessibility Score unless the Accessibility checks are enabled. Hence, without the Accessibility module, it is not possible to reach a DCI Score of 100. If you have a near-perfect score in SEO and QA, the maximum score you can reach without Accessibility is 66.6%.

Sample DCI Score breakdown without Accessibility:
QA Score = 86%
SEO Score = 74%
Accessibility Score = Not available
Final DCI Score: (86 x 0.333) + (74 x 0.333) + (0 x 0.333) = 53.28%
