What Policy templates are useful for your website redesign project?

Modified on: Fri, 20 May, 2022 at 11:44 AM

A website redesign project can be challenging. Siteimprove has developed several useful policy templates to help address issues that can occur after a redesign project.

You can find these and other useful policy templates in the Siteimprove platform under Policy > Policy Library.

Redesign related policies

Links to documents that do not open in a new tab

This policy will find pages with links to documents that do not open in a new tab. This will help identify pages where a user’s workflow can be interrupted due to incorrect markup.

Meta tag description policies

"Pages missing a meta tag description" and "Long meta tag descriptions" can help with SEO after your redesign project. You can use these policy templates to make sure that your meta tag descriptions are tailored to improve both visibility on search engines and usability by visitors.

Documents more than three years old

It’s important that your website provides up-to-date information. This policy template will detect all documents older than three years old, allowing you to update or remove out-of-date content.

As well as these template policies it’s a good idea to set up policies to keep content consistent across your website, for example, create policies to check for your privacy statement, phone number, address, etc. Find out more in the article Introduction to Policy and check out our interactive tutorial on how to add a policy from the Policy Library.
