This week, we're getting ready for GDPR and adding a Key Metrics settings section for our users:

  • Cookies tracker (GDPR module): See which cookies have been set on your sites, helping you work towards GDPR compliance.
  • Key Metrics settings: change the currency of Key Metrics without having to contact support.

WHAT'S NEW

Cookies Tracker (GDPR)

With GDPR just around the corner, it's time to take stock: do you know all the places on your websites where you could be holding personal data on EU citizens? What kind of data do you have on your customers and do you have their consent for possessing their data? And don't forget cookies: those little text files that your website sets on visitors' browsers to collect information and store data.

Our new cookie tracker in the GDPR module scans your site for cookies so you can see which cookies are essential and assess your liability risk. Since some cookies can be set by external parties (for example, if you have an embedded media application on your page that sets its own cookies), it's not easy to know exactly which cookies you have on your site. The cookie tracker identifies the originating domain of each cookie and how long they remain on a visitor's computer. With this information, you can decide whether you need to take action to get visitor consent and inform them of how their data is being stored and processed.

For the more technically minded, you can also see an example of a page which a cookie is set on, so you can investigate further. In the future, we'll be adding a full list of pages for every cookie.

Key Metrics Settings

We've had a lot of users request the ability to change the currency that key metrics are valued in, which you can now do under Key Metrics Settings.
